Wayne S. Franzoni

Wayne S. Franzoni, 74 of Pembroke, formerly of Quincy, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021. The son of the late Almo “Bud” and Clare (Marchand) Franzoni Jr, he was born in Boston on August 21, 1946.

A graduate of North Quincy High School, Wayne played offensive and defensive center for the High School Football Team. He also enjoyed a good game of pickup basketball. Wayne proudly served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was later employed as a warehouse/retail manager at WearGuard, an ARAMARK company. Previous to that, Wayne managed NEA Apparel, Walker's Riding Apparel of Boston, and F.W. Woolworth's. Wayne was a big fan of all sports and fascinated by first person accounts of twentieth century history events.

Wayne was the devoted husband of Maureen (Cook) Franzoni. Loving father of Pamela Read and her husband Greg of Westborough, Jeanne Hesketh and Bruce Churchill of Kingston, and James Franzoni and his fiancée René LaFleur of Bridgewater. Cherished grandfather of Nate Read and his wife Stephanie, Caitlin Read, Will and Emily Hesketh, Grace and Jack Franzoni, Bella and Sophie Chesnulavich, Henry Franzoni, and great grandfather of Jackson Read. Dear brother of Kim Franzoni and his wife Cathy of Amherst, NH, Lynne Nivica and Gjon of Bridgewater, and Mark Franzoni and his wife Nancy of Plymouth.

Visitation in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St, Rte 53, in Hanover on Thursday morning from 10 to 11 AM, followed by a funeral home service at 11AM. Burial with military honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Wayne's church, North River Community Church, 334 Old Oak Street, Pembroke, MA 02359 or at www.northriverchurch.org/give. This donation will go to the NRCC memorial fund which helps those who don't have resources for a funeral or burial.
