James "Jim" M. McNiff, 63, passed away peacefully, Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, at Maine General Medical Center in Waterville, with his family by his side. Jim was born in Quincy, Mass., Aug. 19, 1946, graduated from North Quincy High School and attended Emerson College and Northeastern University. His passion in life was cars and he worked in that field until he became disabled by rheumatoid arthritis. He traveled between Massachusetts in the summer and Boca Raton, Fla., in the winter until he moved to Maine to be with his family. Jim was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Mary Ann. He leaves behind his sister, Ruth; his loyal friend, Cyrus; his faithful felines and his gold BMW convertible, all of West Gardiner.
