Stephen E. Tibbetts

Stephen E. Tibbetts, age 74, husband of Nancy (Williams) Tibbetts passed away quickly and peacefully from a rare and aggressive form of cancer on August 26, 2020 at his home in Middleborough, Massachusetts, surrounded by his family. 

Born in Quincy, Massachusetts to Eugene and Dorothy (Gray) Tibbetts, Steve was a 1964 graduate of North Quincy High School. 

In addition to working in credit and collections management with Briggs Engineering and Granite City Electric, Steve also enjoyed his driving days with Judco transporting special needs students. Steve was a proud US Army Vietnam veteran. 

Besides his family, Steve’s other true love was antiquing. Finding that perfect piece was such a thrill for him. Steve was a sports enthusiast and cinema aficionado.  

Steve loved his family fiercely and prided himself in choosing just the right gift for just the right grandchild. 

Steve had fond memories of his years at Calvary Baptist Church in Hanson and First Baptist Church of Duxbury. He recently was a member of the Central Congregational Church in Middleborough.

In addition to his wife Nancy, he is survived by his children Brenda Trotman and her husband John of Bridgewater, Stephen Tibbetts and his wife Jennifer of Carver, Beth Tibbetts and Darryl Guidetti, and David Tibbetts and his wife Alexis. He was the beloved Papa of 8 grandchildren: Amber, Andrew, Gemma, Sophia, Lily, Isabella, Russell, and Violet.  Steve was the beloved brother of Alice Bruton and George Tibbetts. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Steve’s love of family even extended to his beloved grand-dogger mastiffs Daisy and Louie.  

Family and friends were invited to attend a memorial service held at 9:30 am, Thursday, September 3rd at Duxbury Church, 2 Tremont St., Duxbury, MA. Following the service all were invited to the Bourne National Cemetery, Bourne, MA, for Interment and Military Honors.
