A memorial service was held for Ms. Shields in the North Quincy High School auditorium on November 20.

Thank you Ms. Schields for your inspiring biology classes.  I enjoyed your dedication and spirit.  You motivated me to major in biology at Boston University, and later to enjoy a 20-year career in biomedical technology.  I'm sure you touched many students in your teaching  career.  Many thanks from this student.  Peter Bono.

What a terrific teacher. I remember dissecting the clam and frog in her class. What an educational loss.
