A funeral Mass for Harold F. Forest of Dorchester, a former teacher and baseball coach at North Quincy High School, was held on Thursday, September 19, 1985, in St. Gregory’s Church, Dorchester.

Mr. Forest died Sunday in Carney Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Boston, he was a lifelong resident.

A graduate of Boston College High School, he attended Holy Cross College and received a bachelor’s degree from Boston College and a master’s degree from Boston Teachers College.

Mr. Forest taught for 38 years in Quincy schools, including Atlantic Junior High School.

In 1971, he retired from North Quincy High School where he had coached the baseball team for 21 years.

A member of the Quincy Retirement Board, he was formerly a member of the Quincy Community Players.

He was survived by his wife, Mary F. (Stevens) Forest of Dorchester; and a sister, Helen Sweeney of Pembroke.

Burial was in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery.
