Francis McKiernan

Francis J. McKiernan, 68 of Rockland died suddenly on Jan. 14, 2015. He was born in Boston, son of the late Anthony and Merle (Denning) McKiernan and was raised and educated in Quincy. He was a graduate of North Quincy High School and attended Quincy Junior College. He completed his education at New Hampshire University earning a degree in criminal justice. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. Frank had been a member of the Weymouth Police Department as a patrolman for 15 years. Twenty years ago he started his own livery business, FM Transportation and had operated that until the time of his death. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lorraine M. (Lawrence) McKiernan and his daughters Kimberly A. Murphy and her husband James of Quincy and Cory A. Mace and her husband Adam of Bellingham. He was the brother of Catherine McKiernan of Fla. Kevin McKiernan, Merle Espinosa and Karen McKiernan all of Randolph and the late Anthony and Edward McKiernan and Cheryl Malone. He was the proud Papa of Quinn A. Mace. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St., Rockland on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015 from 6 - 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in The Church of the Resurrection, 1057 Main St. in Hingham on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
