I met Margaret when we were only 3 years old. We became best friends instantly. Her parents didn't have a television so on Friday nights Margaret would sleep over. We would camp out in the den, watch TV, eat Jordan Almonds and drink Coke.
We walked to Beechwood Knoll Elementry, Central Jr. HIgh and North Quincy High school together and I usually ended up waiting for her at her house. Even when I got my drivers license and picked her up later I had to wait. She was my Maid of Honor at my wedding and I made sure she got dressed at my house so she would be ready. I was a bridesmaid for her. She was my oldest daughters godmother and I was her 2nd childs godmother.
After she got married she moved to Maine. Even though she lived in Maine, we always got together when she came down to visit with her parents.
Margaret was a hospice nurce and a very good one.
My husband Butch and I were at her son's wedding in July 2011 and we went to visit her in Maine in Oct. 2011. She was sick at the time of our visit with stomach cancer but insisted that we come. Margaret never gave up the fight. She passed away in Feb. of 2012, 2 weeks after her 65th birthday and 3 weeks before her 4th grandchild was born..
I miss Margaret very much.. Friends like her don't come along very often. I think of her often.
