Penney was a "Squantum" girl I grew up with.  She was so smart on a lot of levels, not only in the science club but also in the great books club and she had a wonderful, warm personality.

She wrote in my yearbook,

"Ginny, best of luck in the future.  Maybe you will have an opportunity to use four years of French, remember me when you do. Penney."

Penney would have been proud of me, I did use that French from the classes we had with Mr Tanguay in my doctoral work and in travels to Paris and Quebec, and even in Tahiti!

Look for Penney on page 21 of our yearbook, she's front and center in the French Honor Society photo, I wish that she lived longer to enjoy travels of her own.
