QUINCY Robert Laing, lifelong resident of Quincy, December 22, 2008. Beloved husband of the late Shirley (Potts) Laing. Devoted father of Lawrence Laing and his wife Lisa of Bridgewater and his daughter Nancy Joyce and her husband Richard of Quincy. Loving grandfather of Benjamin Laing of Bridgewater, Andrew Joyce of VA and Matthew Joyce of So. Boston. Great-grandfather of Cameron Joyce of VA. Robert was a graduate of Boston University with a Bachelors and Masters in Education. He was employed as a school teacher for Quincy Public Schools for over 30 years before retiring in 1985. He enjoyed volunteering as a cancer driver for the Road to Recovery program. Robert was the manager of Cunningham Park in Milton for many summers and them permanently after retiring. He was the past President of Quincy Teachers Assoc. Robert was the N.Q.H.S Hockey Coach for 18 years and was also inducted into the N.Q.H.S Football Hall of Fame. He was also a member of American Legion, VFW 433 Infantry Division. Robert was a proud WWII Army Veteran.
