A funeral Mass for John S. Hofferty, 83, of Quincy was celebrated December 14, 1991, at St. John the Baptist Church.
Mr. Hofferty died November 28 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
He was a former English teacher at North Quincy High School, and head of the English Department.
Mr. Hofferty was an Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by a brother, Robert J. Hofferty of Wollaston, a Sister, Kathleen M. Hofferty of Fort Lauderdale; a niece, a nephew and a grandnephew.
A graveside service was held December 2 in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery.
